Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah -Zagora Desert

In the first day of Marrakech desert tours 2 days to Zagora, we pick you up from your hotel or Riad in Marrakech. After that, we drive through the High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n Tichka; a mountain pass in Morocco that links the south-east of Marrakech to the city of Ouarzazate.

Next, you will visit Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou where you stop to take pictures and talk to the natives. After that, you will have lunch in some restaurants.

Later, you will drive past Ouarzazate crossing the Anti-Atlas Mountains to the oasis of Agdz. On the road, get ready to admire the wonderful ornament after another driving along Draa Valley. Its enriched Kasbahs and oases dotted with thousands of palm trees will mesmerize you.

Upon arrival to Zagora desert late in the afternoon, you will have some rest. After that, you will join the camel caravan where your camel ride escapade will start. The camels will be taking you through Zagora desert while you are witnessing a marvelous sunset.

The camel ride is about one hour to reach Zagora desert camps located in nowhere in the middle of Sahara. The Sahara desert at night is a whole new scope where you will be experiencing one tale of Arabian Nights. After the delicious Berber dinner, the party begins. Singing and dancing local folklore with the nomads is the most entertaining activity in Zagora desert.

Finally, After midnight, you can choose to sleep in a Berber camp, or outside under the crystal clear sky.

Day 2: Zagora Sahara- Draa Valley– Taorirt Kasbah – Marrakech

In the second day of Marrakech Desert tours 2 Days to Zagora, you wake up early to watch the sun rising over the horizon. The sunrise in the Sahara is the best in the world. When the rays of the sun touch the golden sands of the desert, it creates a magical view.

After that, you will have a traditional breakfast prepared by Berbers in your bivouac. Next, you ride your camels back to Zagora where you meet your driver.

When you meet your driver, he will take you back through the palm oasis of Draa Valley and Agdaz towards Ouarzazate. You stop there for lunch in one local restaurant. In addition, you can visit the famous Taourirt Kasbah.

Taourirt Kasbah was built in the 19th century and owned by the El Glaoui clan. The family that had a powerful stronghold of one of Morocco’s most significant southern caravan routes to West Africa. This power and wealth made the clan one of the country’s most influential families.

The kasbah is built at the heart of Ouarzazate to allow Glawi’s family to control the caravans crossing the High Atlas towards Sahara Desert of Morocco and Tombouctou.

Finally, After visiting the Kasbah, The tour will continue through the High Atlas mountains to reach Marrakech. At about 19h00 or 20h00, the Morocco Travel driver will drop you off in your hotel or Riad.
