Marrakech, top 6th best destination in 2020

The city of Marrakech will bring all your senses to a boil, especially if you stay in a Riad in the central square of Jemaa el Fna.

In Marrakech, don’t miss the magnificent minaret of the Koutoubia Mosque and the El Badi Palace.

El Badi Palace constructed in the 16th century and today is gradually turning into ruins. However, it is still extremely beautiful and impressive.

Also, head over the Medersa Ben Youssef, a Koranic school with sumptuous architecture which was also built in the 16th century.

Nonetheless, you cannot leave Marrakech without going to one of its famous souks, but beware, you will have to haggle (or buy everything at a high price, that’s the rule!). The very popular night markets are often made up of stalls of different Moroccan foods: the ideal place for a local feast!

Good to know: around the Jemaa el Fna square, you will find many buildings housing restaurants, bars and cafes with panoramic terraces. Sit back, enjoy a cup of tea while admiring the Atlas, and watch the crowds below, the snake charmers and acrobats performing an exotic and entertaining spectacle.

Fez, the oldest surviving city in the world

Fez was the capital of Morocco for a long time before Rabat took its place.

The Medina of Fez is the largest and oldest in the country. Its small alleys, its street vendors and the excitement of the place represent a unique experience!

Don’t be afraid to haggle, especially if you go out of season (fewer tourists, sellers are more inclined to negotiate). Also, as in any souk, the less you seem interested in an article, the more likely you will get a discount …

You will enjoy Fez for sure. The places to fisit include tanneries, Royal Palace, Boujloud Gate, and many more. Be ready for a discovery of the medieval ages. Along with its narrow streets, you will see only old artisanal invading the place. craftsmen producing craft using 11th-century methods.

Be ready for an adventure.

Chefchaoun, Instagram city

Located in the hills of the Rif, Chefchaouen enjoys a particularly relaxed atmosphere. All the buildings of the center are painted in a superb and restful shade of pale blue/lavender. Such a thing that gives an atmosphere at the same time very Zen and a little surreal to the city…

The city is also known for the production of leather, which explains why many shops offer very beautiful bags, shoes, and leather sandals at an affordable price.

Be sure to visit the small abandoned church that sits at the top of the hill and from there admire the breathtaking view of the city.

The Sahara Desert, Camel trekking and Berber adventure

If you travel to Morocco, you must see the desert of Merzouga. The Desert forms the large dunes which atteint 150m high. They offer beautiful scenery and a romantic view.

Merzouga offers many adventures to its visitors. For sure, the first adventure starts when you trek camels for almost 1 hour. The camels will take you to camps located in the middle of nowhere where you will camp for a night.

It’s an exotic but beautiful experience.

Cinema Locations in Morocco.

The two main locations popular for Hollywood production include Ait Benhaddou and Ouarzazate. Ait Benhaddou listed as the UNESCO world heritage site and Ouarzazate hold the biggest cinema studios in the world. It occupies a space of more than 25 miles.

These two places have been used as a backdrop for international cinematic productions including the Game of Thrones, Gladiator, Cleopatra, Star Wars

Indeed, here we listed only a few best locations that we will visit on the tour. Nonetheless, the tour includes other major locations like Volubilis, which was a thriving city during the Roman empire, Meknes, another imperial city of Morocco, Casablanca, and Rabat.
